Hi Cathy, in the place of the old Hallmark in Midland Park Mall is a big store called Ulta. I think they carry beauty supplies and I've seen them in Lubbock and Amarillo too so they must be doing well. Last Spring bath and body works also expanded their space.

Lucidus, I am so terribly sorry you had to go to any Mall today! I drove past the one in Midland and the traffic was backed up all the way to the Loop!

Pam

Hi, Pam,

After I looked at the directory, I see a number of changes in only a little over 2 years. Do you have to drive this year, or do you get to stay in Midland?!? I've got a 430-mile drive, but fortunately 80% of that is I-10!

we'll be home for Christmas but are going to try our luck at the beach at Port Aransas for the week after! We always go North in the summer and South in the winter! Hope we don't freeze but if so, we'll be freezing at the beach and the scenery will be different anyway!

Merry Christmas!

Pam

It certainly will....LOL!! Nights will be chilly, but I imagine the daytime highs will be in the 60s-low 70s, probably. Should be nice unless some weird weather hits the place...and in Texas, that's not unusual!

Have a great time!

Merry Christmas!

The Permian Basin Forensic Center will open in February. This new facility will allow autopsies to be performed in Odessa instead of 300 miles away at the nearest forensic center Fort Worth. This new facility is expected to save local taxpayers at least $100,000 a year.

Efforts are underway to bring new life to the recently closed Flint Hills Plant. The plant closed earlier this year leaving about 500 employees out of work. California based Constellation Capital Management is gathering new investors and hopes to reopen the plant and hire at least 1,000 workers.

Part of the plant was opened in October and about 100 workers were hired.
