EMORY, TEXAS. Emory, the county seat and largest town of Rains County, is at the junction of U.S. Highway 69 and State Highway 19, at the center of the county.
Quote:
The early postwar period saw modest population growth, but it was not until the late 1950s, when nearby Lake Tawakoni was built and Rains County began attracting large numbers of retirees, that Emory began to see sizable increases in the number of inhabitants. After the mid-1960s the town grew steadily, from 578 in 1965 to 813 in 1985 and 963 in 1990. Over the same period the number of businesses increased from twenty to thirty-seven. Tourism and agriculture form the mainstays of the town's economy. In 2000 the population was 1,021 with 160 businesses.

My husband and I moved here several years ago, and have loved every minute of it. Beautiful properties, great lakes, great neighbors, etc.....No traffic or crime issues. Most anything you could need you can find in town. If not, then it's a really short commute in any direction to find it.

As for "Pyreman"..... We actually live on CR 3345, and have no problems with any noise issues. So don't give our neighborhood a bad name just because you (or the website creator) obviously live on a corner where people have to accelerate after the curve.

Those surveillance videos actually made me chuckle a little. Where that person lives is right where the road curves. Naturally when approaching a curve you slow down and then proceed to accelerate as you are coming out of the curve or once you are past the curve in the road completely, which that is what those vehicles are doing. Sounds more like they are just complaining about people running legal equipment on their vehicle. Maybe the first guy could do something about the muffler that I bet is rusted out causing it to sound like that, but the rest don't seem to be that bad. But of course they are trying to paint the worst picture possible for everyone to see when in actuality they are probably just disgruntled because of the increased traffic on "their" road over the years. Many people don't like change, but sometimes you have to make change in order to be happy. Perhaps it's time for the owners of that house to make some changes instead of expecting everyone else to change just for them.

just where on 3345 do you live?..are you the one making all the noise?

the problems we have are the ones on the back end of 3345...would that be you?

also, it's just not this neighborhood...the whole town has neighborhood stories.
