My partner has told me that his employer, American Airlines, is/was considering moving its HQ to either downtown Dallas or to the Victory area just across the freeway...similar to what United Airlines is doing in the Chicagoland area. UA is moving from suburban Elk Grove Village to downtown Chicago as a cost saver b/c of lower rents and lower tax rates offered to them by the city of Chicago...this is what was rumored to be offered to AA by the city of Dallas and the folks at Victory.

UA's training operations would remain in the Chicago suburbs just like AA's training would remain at the East Fort Worth/North Arlington boundaries off Hwy 360, south of DFW Airport.

So what is one employee going to do? Every a handful won't help with Downtown vacancy rates, which are already high for relatively low office space.

That was just tounge-in-cheek. But they have to bring enough people to move into what will be two of the largest buildings in downtown Dallas. So there will be a good amount of people working for Comerica.

I have no idea on that end. Somebody from DFW will have to fill in tha regard. All I just know is that they are deciding between two large towers in Downtown Dallas.

So if the numbers have anything to do with that, then all this talk about positive growth is moot!

I agree that an illegal population influx will cause more problems than a legal population influx.

Isn't it only like 11 in Dallas?

Correction: there are 5 million more living in the Dallas and Fort Worth metro...you see what I'm saying?

I know Dallas is important, I would just like to see just how well it would do if it parted ways with Fort Worth somehow. While now it may be just important as Houston, when it comes to being a single, great city, I just don't think it beats Houston in that area. Sorry.

Noooo way. That's crazy people talk, lol. Not to mention, very misleading to those who never visited either city. Dallas doesn't come close to Houston in so many many ways.

Yes we can breathe the air here! And we have Neiman's while Houston is more of a Wal-Mart town.
