if you happen to know the town and have a minute,
will it be flooded if a tropical storm gets in the gulf? :confused
freeport, lake jackson or surfside?

Yes, yes, and yes. No, really, West Columbia is very small. Has a lot of history to it, as it was the Capital of the Republic of Texas in 1836. Check out Handbook of Texas Online: for more information.

My wife grew up in that area and we still have family just a few miles from West Columbia. She says that when it rains heavily the whole area floods, but because it is so flat the water in only a few inches deep. Most houses are built up high enough that the water does not get into them. If you live there you have to know how to stay above the water I guess.
