No, really, West Columbia is very small. Has a lot of history to it, as it was the Capital of the Republic of Texas in 1836. Check out

My wife grew up in that area and we still have family just a few miles from West Columbia. She says that when it rains heavily the whole area floods, but because it is so flat the water in only a few inches deep. Most houses are built up high enough that the water does not get into them. If you live there you have to know how to stay above the water I guess.
