Hey y'all. Hope the weather's warmer where you are.

I'm looking for a place to visit during Spring Break. Most likely during March 12-20. No I don't plan on staying somewhere for a full-week. I'm undecided between Texas and Arizona but I'm leaning towards Texas.

It will be me and my brother. I'm 21 and he'll be 16 so need something to do that will accommodate both of us.

Of course, I'm hoping the weather will be warmer. Average of 70s or higher. 60s are OK. Outdoor activities are also a hopeful.

I've been to San Antonio before when I was 17 so I wouldn't mind going back. I'm looking to travel to any of the big cities in Texas. South Padre Island is out of the question. Don't want to be involved in the party scene too much but I want to be around some nightlife.

The budget for each of us is about $250. Not alot but we can manage. We'll be driving down from Kansas City.

Thanks in advance .

San Antonio is a great place to visit. It's likely to be warm. Austin has lots of nightlife. I would have said Corpus Christi, but you said you aren't interested in Padre Island. I really can't vote on a particular place, though, since they all have some nightlife. DFW is less likely to be warm. I have never been to El Paso.

$250 may not even pay for the gas if you're driving! IF you're planning to sleep in your vehicle, then the other $250 will likely barely cover food for two for a week.

Padre, Corpus, or Galveston of course. In those orders.

That's good that you're not planning to go to South Padre Island. Ridiculous crazy during the Spring Break!

I'd go for Galveston myself.

Ok ok, for the poll, I'd go for Corpus.

Thanks for the answers so far!

Gas won't be an issue. Yes, I realize that it will be a little costly but it only takes $35 to fill up my KIA Sportage when gas is $2.40ish. I will check prices in OK and TX before heading on the trip.

Good news we have a third person joining so it will save some money.

We've planned to go to San Antonio for sure since I've been there before and I still remember alot of points of interest around Market Square and the Alamodome, etc. I do want to visit Corpus for a day and I read that South Padre is about 15 miles away from CC so I don't think I'll have to worry about running into any heavy tourist traffic or craziness.

Planning is still in the works. May change some things but San Antonio is a for sure thing. Just looking for a second city to relax and visit for a day.

Since I'm more familiar with San Antonio, could anyone throw out some suggestions of what to do while in Corpus that would suit a 16 year old as well besides the beach?

North Padre is near Corpus, not South Padre. Enjoy your trip. :-)
