We are far, far away from you but would love to hear how you like the area. Is it as you imagined? I love the Big Bend region.

Not around that area anymore, but have worked there 3 times.Go in to Study Butte (pronounced Stewdy Byoot) and Terlingua and hang with the locals. They are very friendly, and are some of the most interesting people you will meet anywhere. There were people actually living in some of the abandoned mercury mines when we were there, furniture and all set up in the mines. It doesn't take much to get to know them and get invited to social outings and such, which often involves a local moonshine called sotol.Head to some of the local dives. They used to have impromptu jam sessions that really rocked. When we were there you could usually find a few German nationals around there or in the park. They love BBNP it seems.

I do kind of like the remote isolated Big Bend Study Butte. have employee trailer sharing it with 3 other co workers. learning how to buy food on the spot. your advice best source of food purchases? Is it wise not to wash car from the dust because it will get dusty again? I am right at Study Butte across the street from post office and bank. bob blockus
