"6. You don't have to drive to Arlington to catch a football or baseball game"

Oh who cares about football or baseball anymore?? NBA Basketball and NHL Hockey is where it is at, and those are right inside Dallas at the beautiful American Airlines Center.

The City of Dallas has had a higher crime rate then Houston since the late 70's...
Only recently (last decade) have Houston and Dallas come close in that aspect when looking at the overall rate

hahah, omg I gotta take issue with this one? FEEDER ROADS??? Are these roads infants that need to be spoonfed? Are we at a buffet and about to get served by the Feeder Roads? Are we at a petting zoo and bout to buy some pellets from the feeder roads to feed the animals? haha sorry I just can't stand that word. It hurts my ears like when people say pop instead of coke or soda. I like access or service road, frontage road is ok...but never never never feeder road

The crime rates in Dallas and Houston are virtually identical. Moving to one city over another because of crime defeats logic.

You need to give a list of things you prefer in a city/do not prefer.

Your question is far to vague for an accurate comparison for which one is best suited for you.

I suggest you look into both, they're both great in their own ways. Enjoy you move though!

I have lived in both and prefer Houston because:

1. The traffic is equal in my opinion and in Dallas traffic you are usually paying for it.
2. It is drier in Dallas. Could be a good or a bad thing, but we used to have water restrictions where you were not allowed to wash your car. They have some definite water issues up there and it gets old. The cities have outgrown their water sources.
3. More trees in Houston
4. I think people are friendlier in Houston.
5. Houston is a more international city.
6. You don't have to drive to Arlington to catch a football or baseball game
7. The freeways make more sense
8. Better mexican food.
9. Houston has better museums and art galleries.
10. Because feeder roads are much better than frontage roads. ;P

and I think the crime is relative. Houston has more largerdefined bad areas,
where there are more pockets of small bad areas all over Dallas.
The water supply plan developed by Dallas water utilities ensures that citizens will have sufficient water supply through 2050.

Where is the extra water going to come from (not groundwater, obviously, since it doesn't rain that much in that area)? Are there plans to construct new reservoirs?
