Hi all!

I am currently finishing up my bachelor's degree in Kansas and would like to move to Texas with my boyfriend within the next two years. He works as a derrick hand on an oil rig and wants to continue in that business. My degree will be in Communications/Public Relations with an associates of Business Admin.

We are wanting to move to Texas to basically get away from home and to be in the center of the oil drilling. My boyfriend wants to move to Odessa or Midland, but my eyes are set on a smaller population. I grew up in a town of 1200 or less, I'm currently living in a town of about 20,000. This is about the right size for me-maybe slightly bigger.

If anyone has any ideas of towns around the Odessa/Midland area that have a smaller population (I was thinking about Andrews) it would really help with the decision.

Thanks!!

Most of the towns around M/O are going to be pretty similar. I went to college in San Angelo and really liked living there. All of the small towns around the larger cities are pretty much the same. Andrews, Garden City, Sterling City, Crane, etc would be fine. M/O was dead back in the late 80s/early 90s, but I hear that it is booming right now with the oil back in business. Good luck to you.
