Austin would probably NOT be your best bet in your job category--Dallas and Houston both have larger banking environment, large major firms and varied types of businesses, two large international airports that bring in ton of international shipping/business
Austin has mainly politics, UT and IT--

Dallas if you are living in the city area like Uptown has good club/bar scene for YP--apts are reasonable--public transportation is even fairly common and the train system is growing...UT-Dallas is one of the top rated business programs in the country--UT Arlington has a respected accounting program itself so there is local talent here but it seems that accountants are usually able to find decent jobs even in down market...

It has been while since I have been in Houston so can't go into any details but I know the economy is more diversified, and dynamic than Austin's...

It seems like a lot of fun and a good way to start my career. I haven't done a ton of research, so I am just looking for some ideas about where to start. The ideal place would be warm, have a good job outlook for accounting/finance, and have a very good nightlife scene. I have spent my whole life in a smaller city and would like to go out and live a little (and find some warmer weather than Michigan), any suggestions?
You would just love Miami and the Gold Coast of Florida....
