Thank you Cathy. Well, that isn't go. I will be very upset if I can't kill bugs in Texas. This stuff is great. It kills fire ants, any kind of bug and keeps it away for a couple of weeks. That is to bad.

That's why Texas kids are so tuff. We grew up in Beeville and would pit a scorpions against a Pile of red ants (please no PETA replies)
I was stung in San Angelo in the Oil field... put my coveralls on and went up the Derrick 90' in the air and "One" was in my back pocket... Yes I stripped down "neeked" and got away from him. Got bit 2 times in Edna... once in bed and once getting dressed. ALWAYS check your clothes. use the dust around your baseboards.

Default Do Scorpions Bite Pets?

I have visited Texas three times, and have seen two scorpions.
The first one was a big yellow beauty in the latrine at the Fort Worth Nature Center on a hot afternoon.
The other was a small and very fast scorpion in the Palo Duro right outside the front door on a balmy July evening.
This one surprised me because she moved very very fast.
Didn't expect that.
Also saw quite an amazing tarantula in a hole outside our cabin in the Palo Duro.
I wanted to see him, so I dragged a branch in front of his hidey hole, and out he popped, all glorious four inches of him!
He disappeared back into the hole almost as fast as he had appeared.
It was really startling, but worth the experience.
I have a question for you Texans- Do scorpions sting pets, such as cats, birds, or dogs?
If so, do they die from the venom?
Do tarantulas bite animals, for that matter?
I was very curious to know that, as I am a pet owner.
Thanks.

I have never even heard of a pet getting bite by one.Rattlesnakes yes,but not a scorpion.I doubt they would die if bit by one though.People who have real trouble do so more because of an allergic reaction.

O.K. I've lived here outside of Abilene on a very rocky, rattlesnakey hill - for a year and a half now- and STILL have never seen one! -I'm constantly shaking out shoes and clothes and I try to never put my hand in a dark place- Nothing though. I wonder why? (Now watch, I'll see one tonight!!!) Where are they the most prevelant? South Texas?

Just get a cat, they usually can take care of all manner of critters. Mine loved to bat the scorpions around, she did a good job of locating them. She would run the palmetto bugs out of town! I would just open the back door and she woud make short work of them!
