Hello all. PLease advise me on good apartments in Temple, preferably nearer to the VA in Temple.
Price is a factor (no more than $600/month). Looking for those that are not dumps, have low crime, etc. and within resonable driving distance (1/2 hour or less).
Thank you.

A one half hour drive from Temple would put you near Austin.

Check in to The Brooke Apts. I had a one BR there for $500, nice place. If they don't have something ask them about The Bridge. They are related. Other wise do some research for apts along South 31st, south of Loop 363 (Tx 36). Most any apartment will put you within 10 minutes of the VA. Most of anything else is inside said loop and is fairly old or less desireable.

My wife and I were in Temple a couple of weeks ago looking at rentals. We settled on a rental house but we viewed the Bridge Apartments which were nice enough that we seriously considered them. We also viewed a few of the Chappell apartments (Chappell Hill, Chappell Oaks, and another one that escapes me) on Ira Young Drive. They were all very nice... don't remember if any of them were around $600 or not though.

One of the leasing folks at a complex recommended Pecan Point and Wildstar (or Windstar or something). We didn't get a chance to view them however so I can't say what they looked like.

Hope that helps.

Here's a current tenant at the Brooke looking to sublet til August 04. If you need to make a quick jump and take a couple months to look around this is a great opportunity.

$595 / 2br - The Brooke apmnt - take over lease NOW thru Aug 4th
