Hi Everyone,

I hear alot about Storms and Tornados in USA, specially in the midwest to the south of US. How often or how big of a chance is it that one of these bad storms or even tornados hits the Fort Hood Area (including, Temple, Harker Heights, Corpus Christi and Killeen) and when was the last time something like this happened over there???

Thanks in Advance

Hi SweedDiva,

we have not had a big tornado hit the area since 1997. It touched down in a small town about 15 miles south of Temple and several people were killed. Since then there have been only very small isolated tornadoes. Don't worry about it. Bad weather is, pardon the pun, over-blown. We will have thunderstorms and heavy rain every spring, but in 10 years of living here we have never had any more damage than a few small branches falling out of a tree. No property damage or threat to our personal safety.

Hi RSTX

thanks for the information, I do feel a little bit more safe now. Sure tornados are very impressive to see, but only on TV. Dont really want to meet one in real life
