well to start it im 24 single and pretty much at rock bottom. I usto do construction for 5 yrs.. My boss started to screw me over so i left. I am now currently back on a huge dairy farm that i had worked at when i was in high school. I dont really mind doing different things. i just know there really isnt any future up here. There isnt really any money floating around so the construction has pretty much came to a stop. Im not into partying anymore so that kinda life isnt something im looking for. I just want a place that i can go to and find a decent job and a place to live. The only problem i have right now is i only really have enough money to get me wherever i am goin. I have started over before and ill do it again i just know upstate ny isnt the place for greener grass. Some other forums i have read that the oil business is booming in north dakota and texas. im not too sure about this. i dont know what they look 4 or how you get in. but im game for anything. I just dont know the odds of moving to a place and getting a job quick enough so that i have a place to stay and some money to start living on.. if anyone can help me out at all i would really appreciate it.. I really dont want to stay here anymore but i really dont know where to go.

"They have big wide roads down there... I'm moving to Texas"

Come on down, bud. There is always a place for a hard working young man that wants to make a better life for himself. Texas was built on people like you.

If you dont know what you want to do why dont you go to University. That first year is all common courses you will have the space and time to sit down and seriously figure out what you like to do and plot a degree based on that. The odds of landing a good job in Austin with no skills are slim to none.

Start looking for some jobs online in the cities you would like to possibly live in Texas. Snagajob.com can help you get started for career options. I think you should find something that you feel you'll excel at, apply there and then wait for any advancements. Don't relocate from your location right now and then look for a job, that's way to much of a gamble, because you said you only have enough to get to a place, but then you'll be out of luck for shelter, and food.

Oklahoma has pretty low unemployment rates, lower than Texas's.

frankly I say join the Air Force--
get paid, taught a trade, see the world maybe
if you want to, there are opportunities for someone to get in military--I am not advocating becoming regular Army or Marine because I think those guys are getting the short end of the stick with the war
but the Navy and Air Force in particular have real world skills that you can take with your when you leave...
