UT is a good school with good programs. As mentioned, their merge with the Medical University of Ohio has only helped. The University was recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects as one of the top 25 most beautifully landscaped campuses in the country. My friends are always complaining about the parking. There is evidently not enough. I consider the UT campus as a buffer between good and bad neighborhoods. Directly east of campus is filled mostly with college students living in rental homes but not too much further east is rough. South of UT is also kinda rough. North and west of UT is Ottawa Hills, the most upscale area of Toledo.
