One target gene that links the deadly Colorado cantaloupe outbreak is Apolipoprotein E:

Apolipoprotein E / Listeria / Impaired Response

One week before the outbreak, badger2 and a friend were eating cantaloupe at Fort Collins, Colorado. The friend, unlike the mice, was positive for the ApoE marker.

Much like the unexplained illness currently involving Cuba, Toledo prisoners do not have the technology to verify that microcystin remains sequestered on surfaces (throughout the winter [italics]). Though we must relocate, too, and take leave of this thread, we suggest that obtaining such verification independently will go some distance in the litigation against the EPA.

Regards,
Mike Lansing

We have mentioned opportunism and fascism on this thread. So that the prisoners can understand what is at stake in the case against the EPA whereby the people may well end up knowing more than the judge knows (better a street-sweeper than a judge), we now link NASA and Cleveland State University to the BP oil spill, noting that aging pipes under the Great Lakes are a serious threat even without algae:

Mississippi River Plume / Loop Current (Florida State and Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27458442

More bizarre is that the term "loop current" is an electricity term also known as mesh-current. Thus, the Cleveland State University-NASA link is indeed found in Fundamentals of Electric Circuits, by Charles K. Alexander and Matthew N.O. Sadiku:

'About the Authors. Charles K. Alexander is a professor of electrical and computer engineering in the Fenn College of Engineering at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio. He is also the Director of the Center for Research in Electronics and Aerospace Technology (CREATE). From 2002 until 2006 he was Dean of the Fenn College of Engineering. From 2004 until 2007, he was Director of OHIO ICE, a research center in instrumentation, controls, electronics, sensors (a coalition of CSU, Case,, the University of Akron, and a number of Ohio industries). From 1998 until 2002, he was interim director (2000 and 2001) of the Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technologies and Stocker Visiting Professor of electrical engineering and computer science at Ohio University. From 1994-1996 he was dean of engineering and computer science at California State University, Northridge.
....
Dr. Alexander has been consultant to 23 companies and governmental organizations, including the Air Force and Navy and several law firms.
....
He has received over $85 million in research and development funds for projects ranging from solar energy to software engineering.'

The loop current connection'to is found on page 103:

'By inspection, write the mesh-current equations for the circuit in Figure 3.29.'

The NASA connection is found in the preface of the book:

'Preface....Knowledge Capturing Integrated Design Environment for Circuits (KCIDE for Circuits). This software, developed at Cleveland State University and funded by NASA, is designed to help the student work through a circuits problem in an organized manner using the six-step problem-solving methodology in the text.'

Loop-current all the way out to the Deepwater Horizon wellhead also involves the diversity of plankton in the Pubmed abstract, above.

The Janus-face of fascism is indeed found in McGraw-Hill's Fundamentals of Electric Circuits, the International Edition we have quoted from in this thread. On the back cover, it reads: 'This book cannot be re-exported from the country to which it is sold by McGraw-Hill. The International Edition is not available in North America.'

'The ferocious winter, with its shortage of game, powder, and ball, had grievously injured them, and many grumbled at the insufficiency of American trade goods and the attempts of the United States to restrict the access of British traders through nonimportation laws.'
(Sugden J, [1997] Tecumseh: A Life, New York: Henry Holt & Co., p. 273 Last Days of Peace)

Note that one of the most important areas for Microcystis in the world is in South Africa, and that the cyanobacterial hyperscum crust report in reference #13 has been scrubbed:

These are the four current Alzheimer's links to Microcystis:

Patients in the Lake Erie region can be monitored for Alzheimer's:

'Proteins belonging to the heat shock protein (HSP) family have been useful as general indicators of stress (Bradley et al 1998). However, their low specificity makes them less useful for indicating the source of the stress. Identifying protein markers for human disease is an area of large interest and potential. As an example, by combining information on the levels of three proteins in the cerebrospinal fluid (T-tau, Abeta42, P-tau181), it is possible to predict with good sensitivity and accuracy if a patient will develop Alzheimer's disease within the next few years (Hansson et al 2006).'

The article does not mention inhalation of microcystin dust, however, which also links to the ethmoid sinus in Alzheimer's. The question of subsistence on surfaces, as far as we know, is yet to be found in the literature:

What is Microcystin?

Because of the aluminosilicate hypothesis of Alzheimer's (origin at the ethmoid sinus), the efficacy and safety of this Chinese method against Microcystis is questionable:

The most current report at Pubmed for the algal toxin, microcystin, is a Canadian study that includes a Chinese worker. We will be revealing the deceptions of this study by first pointing out that the ethmoid sinus mentioned in post#19 for Alzheimer's is also the entry site for influenza viruses. Our target study is here:
