Needing to head north to Ann Arbor MI (MI SR 23) coming east from the Cleveland area, and not sure of the best exit to take??? I Will be in the area around 10-11 am on a Sunday if that matters. Google maps says exit 64, but that puts me right through downtown Toledo. Might not be bad on Sun, but my return trip the following Weds afternoon has me wondering for then. Please help me with picking the best exit. Thank you.

Personally I would get off at exit 59, Head west to I-475 and head north on 475 which also carries 23. When you get to the north of Toledo, 23 and 475 will split. Just take 23 up to Ann Arbor. Slightly more in tolls, but you are not going through downtown (which isn't all that bad, but more curves and turns).

I get off at I-75 (exit 64) and head north on I-75 to I-475 west, which takes you to 23 north.

I-75 north through Toledo can be dicey; move your way to the left lanes as soon as you can and stay there. I haven't been through in a couple of years (my sister lives in Ann Arbor; I haven't visited since the pandemic), but there always seems to be construction!

There is no direct access to I-475 from the turnpike; if you use exit 59, you'll have to travel along U.S. 20 and Ohio 2 to get to 475. It's not far, but it's a pain in the butt sometimes. You weigh the lower toll and driving through Toledo with a higher toll and taking local roads to I-475.

Don't bother with exit 71. I found that route a big hassle.

Good luck!

Yeah, exit 64 is what I would do. The traffic on I-75 isn't anything to worry about, even in downtown Toledo. And especially not on a Sunday.

Going all the way to exit 59 adds tolls and doesn't save any time.

Exit 71 (I-280) is cheaper, but barely. I'd use that for Detroit, but not AA.
