Hello Toledo!

I'm a current resident of Augusta, Georgia looking to move back closer to my Midwest roots (metro Detroit.) I'm somewhat conflicted on whether to purchase a single family home, or opt for a condo instead. I'm partial to a condo, but have had some issues with loud neighbors affecting my quality of life in communal settings in the past. This was almost exclusively in new/newer buildings with paper thin walls. My sense (guess) is this wouldn't be as likely a problem in a 90+ year old, solidly constructed building like Ann Manor?

I'm wondering if any of the posters in this forum would happen to have any experience actually living there? I'm truly interested in learning anything (and everything) that anyone might be able to share...good and maybe not so good. I've read about the neighborhood (Old West End) and think it would be a perfect fit for me. Unfortunately, the single family homes are mostly massive and I'm actually looking for the opposite. I've read that Ann Manor is a "community within a community." I don't know if that's true or what exactly that means, but in moving from another region and not knowing a soul in Toledo, it sounds good.

Hoping to hear from persons that may have actually lived there and can give a first hand account of what it's like. In saying that, I don't want to discourage anyone from offering their perspective, even if second hand.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Paul
