I've been UT's student for 2 years. Everything is fine, except place to live. Last year, I chose Campus Village because it's so close to the campus, restaurant, grocery, and so on, but just after some months, I was tired of maintenance, noise, and broken stuff. After this bitter experience, in the second year, I chose Old Town with stupid promises from the staff.
I've been looking for a safe apartment for almost 1 month. I consider about living in a townhome next year. Finally, I find Jamestown, but my friend said it is not safe. In contrast, I think Old Orchard is a safe area.
Jamestown in Old Orchard.
The town home is really beautiful, affordable price, walking to UT in miles, but I saw more than 80% negative comments about it in the internet.
I'm really lost! Please give me an advice.
I just need a place that can get to school in miles and safe. House, apartment, townhome, condo... everything is fine!
Thanks!!!

I'm sure you've gone to house parties behind the engineering building (Bancroft Hills Neighborhood), this area should be avoided as a place of residence along with the housing off of Dorr street (Secor Gardens neighborhood). I do not know one person who has lived in these neighborhoods whose house and/or car hasn't gotten broken into.

If you're looking for a place to avoid noise I would look into Country Club, Jamestown or Steeplechase. I haven't personally lived in these apartments, but I know many people who have lived there and loved it. I wish I had a personal opinion about what you're looking for, but the only apartment complex I have lived in off campus is Olde Towne. However, I know many, many people who have lived at the other complexes and have felt completely safe and at home! I hope this helps!

I'm living behind Engineering next year. I'm not worried about it all. My ex lives at Country Club. Seems like a nice place.
