Hey, this is admittedly a stupid question, but I have been watching a lot of Property Virgins (which is largely based in Toronto) and I have noticed that there seem to be very few floor plans that people choose from...

It doesn't appear to be just with new construction, either.

Is it just common to have those long, skinny houses with the living room up front, kitchen in back, stairs running up one wall...you know what I'm talking about?

Also, the apartments seem to follow the same loft style over and over and over.

Is there historical significance?

Narrow city lots don't leave a whole bunch of options.........hard to pop a ranch onto a 25 ft lot.
