Hi,

I am planning to attend school near Toronto, and its campuses are located in three places: Mississauga, Oakville, and Brampton near Pearson airport.

Are these neighborhoods safe? What are they like?

I think you'll need to provide major street intersections for an answer better than: Mississauga is better than Brampton, and Oakville is better than Mississauga.

I am actually planning to move there, I am not from Canada, so I don't know any street names. If you could give me a general idea of where the bad sections are in Mississauga, Brampton, and Oakville, that will be great.

Actually, the street names where the school campuses are located are: McLaughlin Road in Brampton, Duke of York Boulevard in Mississauga, Trafalgar Road in Oakville, Iroquois Shore Road in Oakville.

Unfortunately I don't live in any of those places, I live in Toronto proper. Maybe someone can respond?

You going to Sheridan?

Those areas are all suburbs, plus Toronto/GTA is pretty safe overall. You'll be fine in any of them. The Trafalgar campus is pretty sweet.

I've lived in Toronto and recently moved to Mississauga. I'll have to be honest here, there is no bad "neighbourhoods" in Mississauga. It's all generally nice. Obviously there's the odd crime here and there, but not to much happens here. Your campus will be near Square One mall, which is a good place to be.

Toronto/Mississauga is safe. Don't listen to all the crap you hear. As long as you don't get involved with the wrong people you're fine.

I don't like Brampton - Boring. Oakville is to quiet.

Brampton is perfectly fine.

It is certainly safer than just about any American city of comparable size.

It has a bit of a negative reputation in the Toronto area because it has slightly cheaper housing, is further from the city, and thus is not as upscale as Mississauga.
