I am living downtown TO and I would like to know, what should I use for Internet and cable?
Do u know which company has the better offer?
What do u have?
Depends on your building, you might be stuck with Rogers. Not that DSL is any better, though. Maybe you should just rent a condo from someone whose building provides internet connectivity and stream TV :P
I use Teksavvy for internet. Their basic package offers unlimited bandwidth for a very good price. Avoid Rogers and Bell as will throttle your bandwidth and charge you through the nose if you use it for anything more than bare bones surfing.

One easy solution..
Buy a magicjack (magicjack.com) ship it back home. Your family can then use it to call you as much as you want for $20 a year. You can also call the Canadian number it comes with . Only issue is they would need to either hook it up to their computer when they want to call or leave it connected and the computer on all the time if they want to receive your calls.
