Hi.
I am 33 years old Lebanese guy, I am considering moving to Toronto this summer, I have a Master Degree from Paris (France) and 10 years of experience in the Banking sector (Commercial Lending). I would appreciate receiving some helpful information about the job market and if it is easy to find a work there and if possible some useful links for applying to jobs before arriving.
Thanks.
You might have to get a ceritification from one of the many finanicial oversight boards in Canada, but otherwise you should be to get a job with your resume.
hey im lebanese too and just moved here, fi ktir cheghel surtout si tu parles francais, and toronto is the financial hub of the country fa nchalla kher , courage !
If your French is fluent, that should help quite a bit. Although French is spoken widely in Ottawa as well as Montreal of course, I think being fluent would help, so make sure to emphasize this on your resume.
Indeed. And if for whatever reason you are declined to immigrate under the skilled worker category (not saying I think you will be) you can always try to immigrate to Montreal through the Quebec specific immigration program which values French language skills very highly when considering candidates. I think you may be surprised how big the financial sector is in Montreal, although Toronto's is unquestionably larger. It also has the country's biggest Lebanese population and very good Lebanese food and cultural amenities. Both cities can probably offer you similar cultural communities and amenities, the only difference is language and number of job opportunities. With that in mind, I wish you the best of luck and hope that you will be successful in your move to the shining Metropolis of Toronto!
If you Google the banks, you will find lists of current job opportunities. That could be a place to start. Jobs at TD Canada Trust
Good luck!
