^^^Boston has a lot of old money in the core city itself, in fact they are walking distance to the downtown commercial districts. While there are many wealthy suburbs as well like Newton, Cambridge, Weston, Wellesley, etc., core city areas like Back Bay and Beacon Hill have old money residents going back to the Mayflower and are more urban in structure/feel than Forest Hill/Rosedale.

But they're not in detached SFHs. So we're basically in agreement. I didn't mean to say there was no "old money" in the city of Boston. I think I had a point about Beacon Hill/Back Bay but I guess I deleted it.

Wow - this is off even for such a futile exercise that can't be taken too seriously. Leslieville the Park Slope of Toronto???

^^^ The only similarity is that they are both family oriented enclaves near downtown with Park Slope being much more well established in that regard as well as much more wealthy and historic. I don't think there's enough juice to equate them so it is a silly stretch of a comparison. Ironically, I'll be in TO for a halloween house party in Leslieville this upcoming weekend then plan on being in Park Slope about two weeks later.

Which American city is most similar to Toronto?
I would say Toronto, Ohio - it is the second-largest city in Jefferson County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River.

don't take those comments too seriously. Those are the typical Torontonian way to make themselves believe the city they live in is superior to any American city, let it be NYC or LA or Chicago or anywhere. It doesnt matter if those comments were true, what matters is the wrote after years of repeating eventually come to believe them.

Don't worry, LA got Toronto beaten on this one. LA is a far more interesting and superior city. It's much bigger and busier. No comparison
