I'm planning on visiting Toronto during the first week of July and was wondering if I'll be able to do anything touristy on Canada Day (July 1st)? Please advise how this national holiday would impact my travels so I can plan my trip accordingly

Just don't waste time watching the fireworks, LOL. I watched it in 08, and it went up very sparsely for less than 10 minutes, and while people were heading back, I was like "what? That's it?"

I don't think it impacts the city very much, but this year, it happens to be a long week.

What do you mean "it happens to be a long week"?

Oh ... Would that affect me negatively as I'll be in Toronto during that weekend as far as touristy things is concerned and mass transit?

the streets will definitely be busier on long weekends, assuming weather is ok. I don't think it will negatively affect you in any way.

That's a relief! I want to enjoy my trip and not have to face boredom with things being closed. I can deal with earlier closing times as I don't tend to run the streets late at night
