Portland and Seattle are known to be passive aggressive, as are Vancouver and Toronto. I live in Portland and I found people in Vancouver and Toronto quite friendly, though I was only in each city for a few days.

Are they somewhat less reserved/more outgoing in Canadian cities than in American Northwestern cities?

Portland is much friendlier than Toronto

Seattle and Vancouver are the snobbiest of them all though imo

toronto has the nicest people in the world. If you go around the USA and meet other torontonians they're always the nicest people you bump into!

That's kind of interesting, I found Torontonians seem friendly than Portlanders, even Vancouverites, who are supposedly so cold, seemed pretty nice. But maybe they could pick up I wasn't from there?

Is this yet another thread where people who are clueless about the difference between friendliness and politeness try to convince us that Torontonians really are friendly?

Man, just interesting why you stuck there for years, seems like you writing about Toronto at least for couple years and hate the city. I wonder what kind of life is this, it can lead to emotional damage easily. Are you studying or waiting for immigration papers there?
