Hey guys,

I apologize if there is already a thread on this topic, but I'm new to this and don't really know how it works.
Anyways, my girlfriend and I have decided to make the move from Vancouver to Toronto. We have both recently graduated University and are having trouble starting careers in Van. This being said, we both know very little about Toronto and have absolutely no contacts there. We will both likely be working in the downtown core. We do not have a vehicle and are likely going to try get away without a car.
My question is where would the best place be for us to move.
- close to subway/transportation
- close to downtown
- close to grocery store
- "safe" - I know its all relative and Toronto is generally safe
- Budget of $900-$1100/month rent

I appreciate any feedback, and any additional info that may help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Get a bachelor or Jr. 1 brd. along the Yonge St Subway line & you will rarely need a car.

Best place for you to move would be into a decent sized apartment with the right amenities. In other words, don't get hung up on location too much like so many other people do, just concentrate on finding some good digs for the price you want.

If you take a map of the city then draw an upside down "T" right down the centre, that's generally considered "good"...

Man, I could be here writing all day. But there are already so many threads in this forum with so much information about the city, why would I do that? Google can also be very helpful. So do some serious reading and research, and come back with more specific questions like: do you think Bickford Park is better than Broadview and Danforth for access to downtown and affordability/availability of rentals and amenities? Or, which neighbourhood has the best blend of affordability/access to downtown/transportation/and night life? Then we can help you out.
