How are you everyone ? I am new to the board and need some of your advice!
I am an international student from China and currently study in US so I do not know much about Toronto...Recently one of my family told me that a very reputable, well known Canadian Company is expanding their business in my hometown and recruiting the franchisees. They charge a significant amount of franchise fee like 7,000 US dollars. The way they promote their business is a bit like amway distributor. My family is tempted to join so they asked me to investigate a little bit about the company and from what I get, I feel this is very suspicious:
The company name is "global master international trade", which makes COMPLETELY NO SENSE to me. The web link: http://www.globalmaster.us/
looks weird: there are no emails, no address for a company which is ambitious to promote business; there are no photos of their workshop or whatsoever.
The most suspicious thing is they claim they are one of the best and most famous herbal and vitamin company in Canada, in particular, in Toronto! Seriously! They claim they are founded in Toronto since 1900. They claim they have passed FDA, GMP and some Canadian health verification and their products are sold all over the world! However I can not get any information of this product on-the-shelf anywhere by googling, other than its own webpages.
I suspect this is a scam but my family is not quite convinced by me(they do not know any English, not much first hand info).
I need you help -- have any of you ever heard this company? "global master international trade" or "galmar" ? if yes,was it true it has been in Toronto since 1900?
Thanks very much for your help in advance. Any input from you will be appreciated.

Go with your gut. If the business seems suspicious to you after your research, that's your gut telling you something is off. I would avoid investing any money in this business. Always listen to your gut. It's rarely wrong.
