Has Anyone been to the new Aga Khan Museum...?

https://www.agakhanmuseum.org/

For such a prominent new cultural institution in the city there seems to be little fanfare.. I did see an ad in NOW magazine for the Lost Dhow exhibition which looks fascinating and will check out over the holidays... Anyway, any impressions on the exhibits - does anyone in C/D land even know about it...

I know about it but I've never been.

Nice, but why is such a prominent cultural institution situated so far outside the city, where no casual visitor of Toronto would ever go...

If they use a city pass and go to the Ontario Science Centre than the Museum is close to it but you're right - neither the Science Centre nor this Museum is exactly easily accessible nor in an ideal catchment... It is frustrating I mean its the only institution of its kind in N.A dedicated to Islamic art and culture yet its not exactly making itself known to outsiders due to poor location. Part of the problem is it isn't just a musuem but a large complex with several buildings and large grounds with green areas etc.. tough to find a location in DT for such a place..

I get you though - if the city took all its attractions and brought them together into something more compact it would be alot more impressive than many give credit.. Another BIG issue with this - not connected to the Subway but there will be access via Eglinton Crosstown LRT in the future I believe..
