I live in New York rite now im a musician with a day job working in a hotel, i make enough to support myself(though I still live with my father) and I want to move to a place with a good music scene. I hear Toronto's is amazing rite now, would there be any point in moving from NY to Toronto though? I hear there very similiar in the fact they both cost a lot etc. Would it be a big change for a New Yorker? or would it just cost more money in the long run? Is the music scene stronger in Toronto than in NY?. Just a few questions hope to get an answer for. Thanks.

Toronto is still quite a bit less expensive to live in than NYC, and the music scene is very strong and eclectic.

Thank you. Would I be able to find studios in or around the city for $750-800?

Have you checked with immigration to see if you qualify for a work permit here? I would do that first.

Personally, I would stay in NY.

Pardon my ignorance, but is a studio some place to live in, or is it a business property?

Generally speaking, I think cheap appartments are under $800/mth, good appartments start above $1000/mth.

I would recommend first spending a few weeks or months here on an extended vacation before deciding to move.
There are plenty of music festivals in summer around Toronto.

A studio is like a bachelor apartment.
