Total tear down!! Its not a heavily used part of the expressway and is the cheapest option with really minimal additional commute time for the rather minimal users of it. In addition you have more opportunities with it gone for other development.

I know the damn thing will not be torn down any time soon, because you know "people have to drive!" so I will just keep pretending Toronto ends at Front Street.

Plus what's the point of all these studies and "options"? I have seen a dozen of them since I came, yet nothing, absolutely nothing happened. I anticipate more reports will be released in the future.

Well you have to talk about it and study it to death before you take on a project like this, but I agree the lack of ambition to this point is kind of disappointing.

Personally I vote tear it down as well. Opening up more of the city to pedestrians is always something I support.

I get the sentiment that Botti has - but there actually is some traction on things in the city/region/province that I really haven't seen in some time.. Call me an optimist but I do think something will be done about the Gardiner in the near future..

Hopefully.

Maybe I am being too pessimistic simply because everything in Toronto seems to take 10 years just to make a decision, not including implementation. It is always talking talking talking, one report after another that I eventually lose interest.

Ontario just announced 60% of Hydro One will be sold. I worked on this for quite some time, and always thought "it will be just endless studies and reports and eventually the Province will balk and end up doing nothing". Guess what, I was wrong.

Glad the beer law will be relaxed as well

Well Botti - as I said I certainly understand the sentiment you have but I guess we can't just say just because things are slow won't mean things will never happen - they just don't happen as quickly as we want them.. Nothing wrong with impatience when it comes to matters that will drive us forward. We need MORE impatient people actually - its those people, the leaders we often lack that actually start to drag the rest of us!

You guys want to meet up again sometime to explore another part of the city? Last meetup was really fun, and it's nice to put faces to names (real names)
