Hey all,

Me and my wife will be moving to Toronto around August this year to study at Humber College and I'm looking at different neighbourhoods to stay in. We are mainly looking at 1bd flats but could consider a basement flat as well (just a bit worried about sharing heating) and we're not looking to spend more that $1000 a month.

I guess we are mainly focused on Mississauga, Brompton or Vaughan as these are on the same side of Toronto as Humber College. I don't think we'll be able to find anything in Toronto within our budget. Transport is important as we wont have a car.

So if anyone that lives, or has lived in any of these areas could give some ideas or tips on where its safe and calm to live. I don't feel like living on a street with 4-5 bars that play loud music all night long.

Thanks a lot!

The area around Humber College is very bland with a heavy Indian presence. I don't think its overly unsafe, but not the safest neighborhood either... you are close to Rexdale and Malton, which have bad reputations.

Best bet is to live far enough north (Woodbridge) if you have a car.
