Need some advice on finding a condo in Mississauga. I want to move in at the end of this year and I am looking for at least a 2 bedroom (high floor), preferably in a new build/recent build. I have done lots of comparisons and I have called up several sales offices and most condos seem to be gone and choices seem limited. My price range is about $300K-350K.

Any opinions on the Eve condo or Eden Park? Anyone who has unbiased, inside information about these builds would be helpful. Price wise and from the floor plans, availability, this seems reasonable on paper. Any other recommendations?

Also, I saw the CBC Marketplace special on condo purchases and how builders/developers screw owners by promising one thing, and delivering another. (CBC.ca - Marketplace - Condo Crunch (http://www.cbc.ca/marketplace/condo_crunch/ - broken link)) Click on link to see the video. I saw an agreement of purchase recently and it is filled with subjective innuendos like "subject to change" at builder's discretion. Have any of you experiences these types of problems when the floor plan did not come out as expected? Any way to protect ourselves in this case? It seems difficult since the sellers seem to be controlling the hyped up market.

Will appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I've seen signs for condo's starting at $170-190k in Mississauga.
Most condos should be in your price range, however finding one you like that's availiable might be a challenge.

$300K - 350K should be plenty for a nice condo in Mississauga. Try the area around Square One - Kariya Drive, Duke of York, Living Arts, etc. Plenty of good shopping and transportation.

hi all..

i too am looking for a condo in mississauga in the SQ1 area but there are so many and i was wondering if there is any such thing as a blog started by owners/residents of these condos that would tell you about them and the problems like rodents or bugs or disrepair..etc.. that would warn you away from one buliding over another??
