Just curious how common do you find social media use is in Toronto/ Ontario in general? Does everyone or most people have a profile? When I think about people I know it is hit or miss. I guess some people are just more private about their lives. I kind of like knowing what happend to people I use to know.
Oh boy, almost everyone I know in this city are always online Facebook 24/7, people here literally have no lives, no offence but they are quite private about their lives and surely are very keep to their selves type people and very introverted and standoffish, so most people are comfortable communicating through online than in real life in this city.
I am really surprised that a lot of people my age/ mid 30s that I went to school with are not on Facebook. It is not new. So I am surprised they have stayed off of it.
Everyone I know under 30 is on FB, Instagram, and Twitter, and Snapchat for the majority of people in 20s. I grew up with FB and smartphones so there's nothing "novel" about using them. It's just a communication tool with my friends and followers, and I'm a heavy user with at 2-5 posts per day and some live broadcasts several times a week.
OK then maybe it is the people I use to know because it seems like a lot of them have become ghosts. I know a few people deleted their accounts (not 100%) sure why?
It can be hazardous to have an account depending on your place of employment.
Some people just get sick of it. It's not really that vital at all.
Or people just don't like it. Hell, I know people who don't have cellphones. Some folks are odd.
