So let's play the 48 hours game : )....
( I may have just made this game up !!!!)

Especially towards the warmer months we get people asking for advise on things to do in a city if you only had 48 hours ex a weekend there.

So I think it would be a cool idea if people shared what they would do if they had only 48 hours to spend in Toronto.

Here is my pick (it would change from year to year).

Saturday morning.....

9 am to 11 am

I would head to St. Lawerence Market for breakfast to eat and explore and do a walking self-guilded tour of downtown

11 am to 1 pm

Visit the CN tower and have lunch in that area

1:30 to 6:00 pm

Head to Nathan Phillips Square or Young Dundas Square to check out what is going on while possibly grabing a drink/snack

Shopping along Queen Street West or in or around the Eaton Centre or where ever you are in the downtown core.

If there is a street festival in the city YOU must drop in to check it out

6:00 to 7:00 pm

Dinner anywhere is the downtown core

7:00 pm to 11:00 pm

You will be going to a concert/ a venue to see live music ( this is klmrock's suggestions )

11:00 pm to 1:00 am

If the venue you are at is getting old ... you are heading to a night club in the city in the Entertainment District.

***********************************

Sunday

9:00 am to 10:30 am

You are going to take a stroll through high park.

11:00 am

Got to Lula Lounge on College Street West and Dufferin for brunch. You get to eat, listen to live music and possibly dance !

2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

I would try to catch a afternoon theatre show

4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

To do a quick walk around of Kennsignton Market and China Town and maybe grab a drink.

6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Dinner on the Danforth .. OPA!

8:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Check of Ripply's Believe Aquarium ( it is breath taking)

10:00 pm to 1:00 am

Go out with a bang ... head in to a locale night club or bar around Queen Street West, the Entertainment District, or College Street West to party through the last few hours in Toronto.

What would you suggest?????

What I would also (additionally) do, without being a local, just visited Toronto three times so far:

- Visiting the hockey hall of fame (if you are into sports)
- Grabbing a beer at the roundhouse next to the CN tower, maybe including a short brewery tour
- Walking around the waterfront, if there is good weather, sitting at the city beach for a while
- Maybe doing a short boat tour, offering nice photo opportunities of the water front

In spring 2004, I had 48 hours. I ate at some South Asian restaurants. Visited locations for a movie I liked. Went to a South Asian movie that was in town. And then I walked around downtown a lot, seeing what I could of a part of Toronto. Involved in all this was a first impression of the public transit system.

With respect to theatre - Toronto has a very large theatre scene but if you want to stay away from the 'broadway' type stuff you'd more typically find and want something different with a local flair, I would consider taking in a performance at the Soulpepper theatre.

https://soulpepper.ca/

The theatre is located in the distillery district area just east of the Dt core. The architecture is Victorian Era industrial but repurposed today with restaurants, Pubs (try Mill Street Brewery Tankhouse Ale), art galleries, shops, cafe's and performance arts venue's including soulpepper.

I miss the smurfs. Charlie Brown and the Peanuts are cool... but they are not blue !
