I have had the unfortunate to meet the most seemingly pleasant but unpleasant people in Peterborough and Lindsay. They are the black unfriendly areas in the whole of Toronto. They pretend to be all nice and friendly but do not be fooled by their charade. A handful of them are genuinely okay but most of them can not hide their disdain for people of color. It is a shame that a country like Canada so great and rich in multicultural acceptance could still have people that are backwards and discriminate based on skin tones. I and my family had a terrible experience as student and would never dream of going back there. My advice is that if you have a darker skin tone, do not bother being in such a place...hey they will not even bother renting out a place for you to live so why bother.
