I got to wonder who is bank rolling this current Vegan army in Toronto.

In every bus, subways and street car I am seeing posters encouraging people not to eat meat.

These marketing tactics are very aggressive and not cheap.

I am also regularly getting people approaching me asking me to be sign petitions and people approaching handing out information ( which I usually just roll my eyes at and hold my tongue). I just think it is funny that are approaching me considering the way I am dressed with this nonsense. I can't wait until the winter when I start wearing fur again ... that should spark some fun conversations.
Anyone else in Toronto noticing this?

I know someone who lives in the Owen Sound area and visits Toronto frequently who is just like that.

I still have my old mink jacket that I got years ago! I'll join you.

Vegetables are lives too, if I have to eat some lives to survive, I can’t discriminate one over the other, and will continue to eat balanced meals that include both

"Angry Vegans wagging war" ??

Give us all a break. Since when is placing a subway poster angry or waging war? Your characterization is pathetic. I see posters for many causes and products on the TTC. Are these organizations angry or waging war? Of course not.

You are ridiculous,

I have friends in Toronto who are involved with Toronto Pig Save. They work hard to educate the public about the dreadful and violent life and death that these very friendly, and intelligent animals endure just so someone can eat their beloved bacon.

Pigs have the intellectual ability of a three year old human being. They are sentient, smart, and playful beings. They do not deserve the brutal lives and deaths that are for some reason, given to them. If more people actually looked at what pigs - and other animals go through so that you can have a meal I think some people would be revolted.

Others avoid the cruel truth and live in denial.

Still others think that somehow, animals deserve horrific lives and deaths and they actually revel in their suffering.

It is that last group that really troubles me.

People who are against eating meat, are a fast growing minority. Many restaurants have menues that tell diners if a dish is vegan, vegetarian or contains meat.

For the people who are spreading the word, eating meat is an ethical concern. So, of course they tend to be passionate.

Really, there are people that "revel" in the suffering of pigs? There are ENOUGH that they are a generalized group? Or, you met ONE person who likely was being facetious and playful?

I do not believe that within the general population, there are a significant amount of human beings who "revel" in the misery of pigs used for slaughter.

Isn't it Toronto where a shop that specializes in selling game found in Canada such as moose, elk, etc. was targeted by vegans for "murdering" animals? In response, the owner had his meat cutters perform their duties in the front window for passersby to see. Of course the actual butchering didn't occur there, just the meat processing: cutting steaks, roasts, etc. from hind quarters, rounds, etc., cubing and grinding into patties and so on.

Pretty sure it was Toronto.
