I totally agree! When I was in College a bunch of us complained that of the 6 'elective' courses we needed to take in order to get our Diploma - French classes should be an option because they weren't (even though the College had French classes). We lost that battle and while I enjoyed taking Astronomy and analyzing ethical issues, I think those French classes would have been imminently more practical and useful in real life.
