Why Toronto and other Canadian cities crime rates are so low compare to US cities? I looked at Toronto stats, and they have 2.5 million people with less than 100 murders every year on average; compare with Chicago 2.9 million people with over 400 murders every year. What is Toronto and other Canadian cities are doing to keep there cities safer than Chicago and other U.S. cities?

I do not know. I can only speculate. Maybe you should ask in their forum. They just got one for Toronto.

for one, Canada's permanent underclass is a lot smaller than ours, though places like Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Regina have their share of problems (still nothing like Detroit, St. Louis and/or New Orleans). For another, they don't share a 2,000 mile border with a major contributor to the world's drug trade. Three, they are a very small market for that trade, whereas the U.S. is the world's largest market. A lot more incentive to set up shop here.

What forum ? Toronto don't have a forum on this website. This website is exclusively US cities. If there is a forum, tell me where

Btw- they have a Toronto/Chicago comparision thread there. Anyone that has been to Toronto should post there. Be civil though; they have not really been hostile at all with it. Try to avoid my city is better than yours crap. They are one of our sister cities.

It must be the fact that all of the citizens are armed to the teeth and conservatives control the government... No? Well, that's what the NRA told me!
