In the wake of recent troubles, the TTC has been scrambling to repair its image. But there's more riding on our transit system than disgruntled passengers – the future of our city is at stake.

There has to be a better way for the TTC - The Globe and Mail (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/there-has-to-be-a-better-way-for-the-ttc/article1458201/ - broken link)

I am liking the fact that TTC is facing a reputation crisis with all the scandals and sharp criticism lately, which may eventually lead to some "changes" in the real sense.
For an international city like Toronto, the current TTC system simply does NOT work. It is probably one those things you can least reply on. My colleague living at Yonge/Finch complains that he departs from home at the same time each weekdays, but arrives the the destination Dundas Station at completely unpredictable time each day, ranging from on time to 40 minutes later than normal. Things happen almost every other day.
Well, thank God TTC only has 2.5 subway lines to operate. I can't imagine if it has 10 or 20 lines like real big cities do... trains crash into each other everyday?

The whole system is nuts, bought bus ticket from Keswick to Richmond hill for my daughter to attend school. Had to buy pass for the GO bus to Green lane, then another pass for Viva bus. Oh they do not tell you that the go arrives 10 to 15 min after Viva has left so wait 45min for next one and be totally late .What a wasteof money for monthly passes, try to get refund bigger joke.If they put mono rail exspress from Green lane to downtown using the 404 corridor it would reduce the traffic by 40% save fuel, less accidents asit exspands add entry points. No billion dollar studies, just build it that saves third right there.
