It is more diverse overall than Oakville.
Areas in Mississauga with more "character" vs. suburban tract uniformity are; Port Credit, Streetsville and Clarkson. For a little bit of "Oakville" in Mississauga, try Lorne Park!
30 minute commutes are possible from Mississauga to downtown Toronto. Try leaving the house between 1am - 4am. Watch out for cops!

I knoe Port Credit is pretty expensive, but what about Lorne Park and Streetsville? Are they more middle class?

Lorne Park is middle class with serious upper class pretentions IMO .

Streetsville is more "middle class'.
