If yopu can't get it from the previous owner and it is factory tehn you will probaly have to go to a dealer. They probaly will charge for the service. That is what I have heard.

Have a look in the glove box, you may find the original documents with the code on them. Worth a few minutes of time anyway. If you have good enough documentation a dealer should be able to give you the code.

Thanks fellas! I sure do appreciate the quick feedback. I will check my owners manual and glove box. I guess my last ditch effort would be to see my local Toyota dealer and shell out a few bucks for the code.

Take Care

My friend works at a transmission shop. They had to take the battery off. He didn't have the code. He called someone at Honda and got the code. He had to take the stereo out to get the serial number, though.

I'd imagine any mechanic can do it....if they're willing to do it.

A dealer should be able to get the serial by the VIN number of the vehicle if origianl equipment. On my honda the number is avialable the owners link now if you sign in when you bought the car.

I had a 2005 Camry and I was trying to program my security code but it wouldnt let me since there was already a code programmed.
I took it to the dealer who told me that it can be reset by disconnecting the battery for some amount of time (more than an hour I guess).
They just took the car in, and got it back to me in 5 minutes after resetting the code. Maybe they pressed a combination of buttons.

Does the radio work at all? Or do you turn the volume all the way up and get very little sound? That's what mine is doing. Could be the amp???
