For the exterior I like black, silver, and the very dark green color of the Rav 4 I posted on the first page.

The power train, at least the one used on the V6 model is outstanding. The 6-cylinder motor produces 269 HP, is quite fast on the road, and still does very well relating to fuel consumption.

Now about interiors: take a look at the interior looks of a Ferrari Testarossa and notice how spartan the whole thing is. Still, who would not like to own such an automobile? To me it looks amazingly beautiful, even with the light tan leather

I don't buy a car for speed...moreso for utility. My V6 makes 290hp with true AWD...the big reason i don't like the ravs powertrain...along with a few others on the market. I'm a fan of Toyota in general, my wife has a Camry, but the Rav didn't make it on the list. Subaru did though...big fan of their AWD systems, its similar in setup to my Jeep.

Those are the same reasons why I bought a 2009 Forester and a 2010 Rav 4 V6 4WD (utility). On the ice and snow in the interior of Alaska where I have lived for a long time, both the Forester and the Rav 4 are incredibly surefooted. I could net tell the difference between the two, both with stock tires. But traded the Forester for the Rav 4 because my wife didn't like to drive the Forester (I bought it for her back in 2009). She could not stand the seats, and her back was killing her. I din't mid the Forester at all, but the Rav 4 has a lot more power, and is quite good on fuel. The Forester has a 4-speed transmission versus 5 on the Rav 4, so maybe thats the reason while the Forester uses relatively the same amount of fuel as the Rav 4 V6.

Toyota and Subaru are big sellers in Alaska, but nowadays there are a huge number of trucks on the roads, too.

I checked Truecar and a new 2012 RAV4 with those options would go for $31k plus tax, title and license in my area. So you paid something like $11-12k less than that which seems pretty reasonable in the current used car market.

You really don't need 4wheel/AWD, most people never need it. It might help in the snow to get going, but all cars suffer from the same sliding in the ice and snow, AWD or not. You save a good 2k getting FWD instead of AWD and less things to fix later.

woud go to a site such as edmonds and loo at what they reprot eople i your area are payig for that vehicle and then at the invoive. A 2012 at this time of year should be quite a bit lower than invoice with dealers incentive from makers.

Haste really does make waste but I'm puzzled why you want to brag about your haste.

It is said......"A fool and his money are soon parted" so it is here.

Thanks for reviving a 10-month-old thread to tell us this. I'm really going to enjoy reading pages and pages of advice directed toward an OP who probably no longer remembers asking the question in the first place.

I just priced a new 2012 like the one you have and it lists at $34k, so not sure you overpaid by much, if any.
