today i tank topped my new Yaris, which came to $13. Normally the gas gauge moves fairly quickly to full when i fill up but this time after the fill up was over the needle didn't move at all. I asked the attendant if i got the full fill up(kind of a dumb question but i was confused about this) and he told me to go to the dealer to have the problem looked at

once i got moving the needle started to move but not by much. by the time i hit the highway the needle moved to full like it usually does

does this first time occurrence signal a problem with the gas gauge?

Lol. You people seriously think he got 'ripped off'?

When you only add a couple gallons the car's computer doesn't adjust the gauge immediately, since it tries to show a steady reading (rather than bouncing around due to the sloshing of fuel in your tank)

Therefore it takes a few minutes to adjust itself.
