Anything to take down the best.

Just articles funded by the big 3 to put down the best.

We have been using Toyota's for 20yrs with no issues at all

I have the 2008 Camry SE V6 and no issues. The same model years Fusions & Malibus are all scrapped out.

This forum is a good indicator as by searching this forum there has been many threads on issues.

Consumer reports listed the common problems drivers has had.
  • Excessive Oil Consumption
  • Defective Exterior Paint
  • Transmission Failure
  • Vehicle Speed Control Issues
  • Unexpected Air Bag Deployment
To avoid dealing with most common Toyota Camry issues, it is important you purchase your car from a reputable dealer. It is in their best interest to sell you a car without problems since their reputation may very well be on the line. As well, make sure to check out the history of your vehicle to see if any of these issues have occurred or if it has been in any accidents (this can usually done through the VIN number).

Common Toyota Camry Problems and Issues to Look Out For
I've noticed that Camry's have become popular among many of the younger drivers, especially those in gangs. They're status symbols. These include people who drag race, do doughnuts, don't keep up the maintenance, and abuse the hell out of the cars they drive. Stands to reason that greater problems result.

From the people who drive in a more conventional fashion, who maintain their cars, and so forth, the reliability of the Camry continues to be its strongpoint. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Camry, but I find its styling rather bland.

I think these problems you mention are the EXCEPTION rather than the rule. This is what makes the Camry hard to beat.

It's so ironic watching all the response from Toyota lovers!

Consumer car reviews isn't Consumer Reports.

The most common problems of a vehicle don't make them common. If one car out of a billion has engine failure, but it's the only problem the model ever had, engine failure is the most common problem, even though it occurred 1:1,000,000,000.

Toyotas have to be the most boring cars to drive

This is hilariously ignorant.

Edit:

To be honest, it may be true in your area, but this is a ridiculous thing to post on a national forum.

Blame the EPA and water based car paint. Not Toyota's fault..

Wow this web site isn't even reputable. I'm an affiliate marketer (online marketing) and this type of site is called a MFA (made for adsense). It's filled with ads and low quality content.

how would you say the 1985 Camry compares to todays Camry in terms of quality and reliability? I ask because my folks had an 85 from 1985 to 1991. when they bought it it was our first foreign car since my dad sold his 1966 Peugeot 404 in 1971 and of course it was so much more luxurious
