Is $19,000 a good price for a certified used 2012 Camry XLE V6? The car has about 44,000 miles, leather, navi, pushbutton start, and a backup camera. This price seems to be about $3000 less than what other comparable cars are going for. (In fact, this seems to be a price more typical for a 4 cyl.)
Seem like a good deal or not?
That price seems like it is a bit high.
My parents bought a brand-new 2013 XLE V6 with every option last June for $23,800. It had 3 miles on it at the time. At the time, they were also offered a 2012 XLE V6 for $18,750, but opted for the new car because the 2012 had 37,000 miles on it in just a bit over 15 months. They used Costco's Auto Program to get the pricing.
Your 2012 is essentially 2 model years old with a ton of miles on it. I would think something with this mileage would have slipped to around $17k.
It's not an awful price, but I do think you could do better.
I use to spend that much on a vehicle, but realized it's a waste of money. Find something for around 10,000 instead. Vehicles aren't an investment, put your money somewhere else.

I cant say enough good things about Costco buying program. The best and cheapest experience i ever had buying a new car
Honestly, I wouldn't buy a Camry used because it's a bad value proposition. It is proportionately much more expensive than a new one. They hold their resale values VERY well.

$23,800 for a new V6 XLE with every option?!? That sounds way too good to be true. A typical discount price (TrueCar, etc.) is in the $27,000 - $28,000 range. A baller might be able to knock another grand or so off, with a lot of e-mail haggling. Was that a straight Costco price or did they bargain over and above that?
Every dealer around here is asking $21,000 - $23,000 for 2012 V6 XLEs. Some with a lot of nerve are asking $25,000. The car my brother got was the lowest priced one in the area. And while the mileage is a little above average, it's certainly not crazy and far from the highest mileage of the available cars.
I am curious, however, if going through Costco would've knocked off any more $$$. $19,000 is below both the KBB and Edmunds fair market values.
