There must be more behind this decision because it makes no sense for me...none...
Not only is BMW a superior and much, much more fun to drive but even if all this is ignored, a simple calculation on gas savings cannot justify it...

My BMW 328i felt no different than driving my first Honda Accord. Only differences were that it accelerated faster, leather seats, etc. It feels no different IMO when the cruise control is set to 80-85.
Maybe you could get your BMW dealer to get you into a 328d. The diesel gets great mileage and drives pretty well. I have the 535d and the diesel engine is a joy to drive. My wife has a Prius that has been a great car but we will probably go diesel or plug-in hybrid when we replace it. You are going to get killed getting out of a lease this soon. As others have said, the fuel savings with the Prius won't make up for it. Have you checked swap-a-lease to see if you could find someone to take over your lease?
I once leased a mercedes SUV and never again! I have prius with solar package, sunroof, leather and all of the goodies. While it's not a sports car it does its job as a comfortable and practical daily. Paid $22K for CPO with 20K miles on it. Consider buying a slightly used one, you can knock off at least $6k-8k off compared to a new one.

The next time I get a prius it will be a used one with 100,000 to 150,000 miles at the right price.
I don't know how many more miles my prius will last it has over 300,000 right now and is running good.

If you'd have to emergency brake or avoid an accident you'd feel the difference...
I will just probably buy the Prius and get the 12K check from Toyota.
No, get an I3, it would be less b/c you have a BMW. It is supposed to be really nice inside. Not to mention, you're gas costs would be dirt cheap if you get the range engine.
Will switching to a Prius save you at least $8700 in gas over the next 24 months? If not, and it certainly won't, you are losing money, not saving money. It's hard to believe that you are even considering this.

My 50+ mpg car cost me $35.
It still gets 50 mpg (as it has for 37 yrs)
NO high tech batteries, (or computer to go dead)
NO GAS (ick),
NO OPEC,
NO Dinosaurs required.
Just drive it "Drivers Wanted"
Push starting works too! (comes in Handy at times, when you get forgetful about lights, or camping / backpacking for a few weeks, or storing for several months...).
If you are a city / highway cruiser who does 20k + / yr, then a Pious is something to consider.
I am 12 months into my 2014 BMW lease. However, the BMW sucks up gas, and want to replace it with a 2014 Prius. I went to a Toyota dealer to get a price. The 2014 Prius will cost $500 a month, for 72 months (6 years) and includes:
6.1" Touch-Screen w/ Integrated Backup Camera Display
Six Speakers
A variety of different Apps
Navigation
Aux Jack
USB Port
And Some Other Stuff (Leather Seats, 90 Days Of XM, Bing Search App, etc).
And in case you are wondering, the Prius was originally $379, but the extra $121 was to buy back the remaining 24 months of my lease.
A six year lease!
No blooming way!
I wouldn't commit myself to such a time period no matter what the car.
