Where can I buy one of those? Oh yea, it's not a viable product. The Prius is. The fact that you went to some public school doesn't change the inaccuracy of your statement. The impact of the batteries in Prius on the environment is a fraction of what the benefits of hybrid system are on the environment in terms of pollution. To say otherwise is pure ignorance. Feel free to continue to keep that stance.

Btw, I don't have a Prius.

Re-read post #89 and it isn't hard to figure out. Prius owners have been brainwashed to think they are elitist enviroconscious know-it-alls by Toyota's marketing campaign.

There are MANY vehicles in Europe that get 50+ WITHOUT the batteries and regen system. Your knowledge of what was possible even 20 years ago and what is available worldwide is pure ignorance.

people in Europe wont even look at a gasser last time I knew!! diesels and more efficient than gassers. I myself prefer the older diesels so I can convert em to run off of veggie oil. I am surprised that a lot more people haven't caught on to this. and a veggie powered car is considered an alternative fuel vehicle and qualifies for a one time tax credit!! and like you said theres not 50+ batteries or regens or a DPF that can clog up and the dam car won't start as well as DEF. I refuse to pay almost 3.00 for a gallon of DEF fluid let alone the cost of diesel. look at the new semi trucks with all of the emissions crap wrapped around the engine. they cost more to operate brake down more cost more to fix cost more to buy there the biggest POS I have ever seen. I won't buy an electric car or a hybrid I sure in the hell won't buy a clean diesel.

Who cares.

The Prius "gets" 71 mpg in Europe. That's because the Imperial gallon is bigger (partially) and because the European test cycles are stupidly optimistic.

I always laugh when I see a Pious. The recent commercials have assured that I will never take them seriously. To this day, Smug Alert is South Park's best episode due to its hilarity and accuracy.

Those that make fun of the Prius (almost always guys) are the same ones scared to death of wearing pink, finding out they know someone gay, or eating a vegetarian meal. It's a "gotta stay macho" thing. For me, I think people should drive what they like, wear what they like, love who they like, and eat what they like.

I make fun of the Prius every chance I get. I don't were pink. EVER. Don't care about gay people.....don't care who anyone sleeps with. Wouldn't touch a vegetarian meal if I was starving. It's not a macho thing for me......since I'm not a guy.

In CA it's standard procedure to do 80 with them. I'm not sure why though. The mpg can't be all that good at 80?

I'll be honest I have a preconceived notion of prius drivers which is basically whimpy beta males who's wivs have their you know whats in their purse. Liberals, hooty tooty people, etc.

Now obviously I realize not every prius driver is like that, especially today the prius is no longer such a small niche you have a wider variety of people driving them.

Especially early on it was a bunch of liberal global warming believing obama lovers. I bet you 6 out of 10 prius have a obama/biden sticker on the back. Some people like that not my cup of tea.

Prius is unique in that its almost a political statement and lifestyle in addition to just a car. I drive a toyota camry because its affordable reliable and good on gas it doesn't really say anything. prius on the other hand is sort of a political statement or ideology
