I love hearing stories about 300k+ and 400K+ mileage on a Toyota. The wife is having to cutback to part time in November, and we still owe quite a bit on both my car and hers. Since I've been paying on mine a lot longer, we think we can probably sell it. I'd have to go without a vehicle for a little while, and figured I could get a beater to drive for a short period until we kind of get through this financial change in our lives. And then once we're more secure, I'd get a 4Runner.

I have 218K on my 03 Vibe GT, which is a Pontiac version of the Toyota Matrix for anyone that does not know. It runs great and I hope to get plenty of more miles from it. Prior owner took good care of it until 207K miles when I bought it for $2,900. I've seen many others sell in the $2K range recently.

There are many people on the genvibe.com website that have maxed out the odometer at 299,999 miles and their cars are still running strong. I think the highest one is in the upper 400K miles and is planning to hit 500K pretty soon. We even have a 2009 on there with over 250K.

130K on a 1999 Corolla drove that till 2010. Currently have a 2013 Matrix love her. However, debating trading her in at the end of lease, probably be about 39,000/40,000 miles then.

In 1997 I bought a 95 SC400 sold it at 300k in 2007. Ran like a charm.
Had hundreds of oil change. All maintenance done by myself. Didn't have many repairs that I can think of. Maybe the starter went out once and I had to do it twice. That was a pita.. Never seen a shop once..
When I sold it, paint was still shiny, everything worked. Accept the driver seat was beat up pretty good. Still got a pretty penny for it..

Now I m in a LS460. I intend to repeat this.

247,xxx on a '89 Toyota pickup 4x4. This idiot ^ didn't take care of it or it would've gone even further. I think it ended up blowing the motor. My dad bought that truck brand new, it was his first new vehicle and it was handed down to me.

180,xxx on a '94 Camry XLE V6. Bought it with about 70,xxx miles on it and sold it to a co-worker. He drove it for a while and I lost contact with him, not sure what happened to him.

About 80,xxx on an '08 Scion tC. Great little car, first new car I bought. Traded it in for a Hyundai.

Bought a '08 Camry base model for my mom back in 2012. I think it had about 49,xxx miles on it when I bought it, probably only has about 70,xxx on it now. There was one point that her commute to work was so short that a tank of gas would last a month.

I had lots of Toyota/Lexus cars. In no particular order...
1999 Tacoma 4cyl with around 200k (sold)
2001 Tacoma v6 4dr prerunner with around 180k. (sold)
1997 Camry 4cyl around 190k (wrecked)
1994 Lexus GS300 with around 150k. (sold)
1998 Lexus GS400 with around 150k, (sold)
2001 Lexus GS430 with around 140k (sold)
2008 Tundra with around 130k. (still own)
2007 Lexus RX350 with 155k (still own)

My family has a few Toyota/Lexus also
2001 Sienna with 175k (Dad)
1997 Lexus LX450 with 155k (Brother)

They are all great cars. I have owned many other makes and models but always seem to have at least one Toyota in the garage. (Probably get another Lexus GS or LS next)

Yes the starter is PITA to change on the Lexus V8. I changed the starter on my GS400, I had to remove the intake manifold, etc. It was not fun but can't complain too much. Like you said, didn't have to do many repairs, just normal maintenance.

200,000? Your just breakin it in!! Change your oil.
I have had my 1991 Toy Yo truck 22re for fifteen years it has 310,000, when I bought it it had 100k. Not one time in fifteen years and 210 thousand miles has my truck broke down on me. I have never been on the side of the road due to mechanical failure. My boyfriend has accused me of loving my truck more then him, and after I'm done laughing my reply usually is ' my trucks never kicked me out' or 'who are you.' Or 'obviously I love my truck more then you moron' or 'my truck has never done me wrong' or 'clearly. And my truck gets very jealous mmmmmm?' At which point they usually run and who could blame em.
But truly I'm expecting I'll get over 500k it still runs like a champ at 310. I've had it stolen, launched it off the side of a canyon (by mistake) and it looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. I really cannot say enough good things about my truck. I do listen to it and try not to ignore too much for too long.

Do you have a problem with the engine burning too much oil? I can even go on out of town trips anymore because of it burning too much oil too fast and thats one of my reasons for wanting to get rid of it. Plus I was just rear ended and the car probably wont run very great in the near future because when you get an accident the car is never the same.
