I have oem michelins on my car with under 24000 miles on them. Sow leak hnrepairable lication in one tire. All over little tread left. Wanting to get a tire with better longevity. So looking for a deal on a spare tire to replace the one with the slow leak until I get the last couple of thousand miles out of these tires. What tire should I consider to replace all five to get better mileage out of tires along with great stopping and good handling? Discount tire recommends a pirelli.any thoughts or options.
FixFlat or similar indefinitely unbalances tire.
For best mpg I'd greatly recommend Yokohama 580. Low rolling resistance tire. I am on my 2nd set, love the tires. Very durable also.
Buy them on TireReck and have shipped to Discount Tire. About best deal you can get.
Thanks, I did not see a tire of this brand and model that will suit my car for some reason. What is another idea of a good long life tire for this vehicle. Note the AWD means it has 19 inch wheel and tires on it.
Are you looking to replace just one tire when the rest are fairly worn? If so that is bad idea. At the very least you need to replace the tires in pairs. Having two different tires with significantly different levels of tread wear on the same axle is asking for trouble.
Do not mix brands of tires with the Michelins. They need to be the exact same tire. Also, you'll need to see what the tread depths are on your other 3 tires so you do not mess up your transfer case on this vehicle. They really shouldn't be greater than 3/32nds difference in the tread. I have a 2015 GS F sport AWD and I work for a tire retailer.
You bought an expensive car. Maintaining it is the same...

Thanks, yes all tires are within 1 or 2 32nds in tread now. The advice I got on a Lexus forum is to go with the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus tire as a better option to the OEM tires that I have now

Make sure all 4 are the Pirelli and not a mixture then
I just did a four tire change which had ~11/32 on each tire at the cost cost of 38% of new retail for our RX. Really great condition tires. Had Lexus do the install and alignment.
