They will have no problem selling the cars, the buyers are getting a BMW for cheap.
So Supra is going to be a Blue Light Special. That's great... probably not what they were going for.
It's too bad, really. It's going to be nothing compared to what could've been.
It doesn't even matter if they sell a few. The nameplate is now damaged goods, a cut-rate BMW. They blew it.
It's going to get worse... a Corvette and Supra are certain to end up in a comparo.
It's going to be a complete bloodbath and humiliation.
And this is just the base Stingray. There are going to be versions of it that will command big money.
This is what's possible when a sports car is properly executed. GM will get their money and the desired accolades.

The mark up for the new Corvette is going to be outrageous I’m betting you won’t get one for less then 100K. With that said the new Supra isn’t a bad car, it’s just NOT a Supra.

Wrong about the markup. Just go to the World's Largest Corvette Dealer: https://kerbeck.com/reserve/
They sell 2020 Corvettes at MSRP. If a deposit hasn't already been made, it's probably too late.
It's hotter than hot... a definite snooze you lose situation.

Then they shouldn't have bothered. It's over before it even got started.
When I took my BMW in for service they had it over the weekend and I ended up with the new BMW Z4 as a loaner. I know it was not a supra but the electronics are the same and it was amazing!!! This is the very first loaner I have had in 8 years that made me sad to get my car back. I would never buy a soft top convertible but the Supra would be a perfect car instead! I let all my friends at work drive it and none of them could tell it was the 4 cylinder because in sport mode it was really spectacular! I can't imagine how fast the 6 will be.

We will see what the price is when they hit the showroom floors. Again the Supra is a damn good car but it’s a BMW that says Toyota.
They had a new Supra shipped to my city last weekend and it was all over the news and FB. Some "sucker" of course bought it the very next day with probably an insane mark-up just to say he was the "first" to buy one. Good for him.....I guess.
The corvette is not a new venture. It is an established model. You cannot compare the two.
They hyped the hell out of this thing only to deliver a BMW in disguise.
This one's way worse than the 86 fiasco. The Supra name means something to Toyota owners.
Over at GM, they underpromised and overdelivered. They did their iconic nameplate right.
